CERTUS Automation delivers automation solutions for logistics operations, from ports and terminals to distribution hubs and parking facilities: the AutoGate, the Reach Stacker, the Mobile Harbor Crane, and the Rail OCR Portal that reads a wagon before a human ever handles it.
CERTUS Automation delivers automation solutions for logistics operations, from ports and terminals to distribution hubs and parking facilities: machines that read things so people do not have to, gates that recognise a truck, cranes that place a container, portals that scan a rail wagon as it rolls through. The equipment is enormous, it lives inside working sites nobody walks into casually, and no prospective customer is ever going to see one before they buy. Which leaves a sales team explaining automated infrastructure across a table, from photographs of machinery that is bigger than the building they are sitting in.
Each build is a scale copy of a real CERTUS machine in company colours, and each was made for a specific conversation. A truck and trailer passing through a barrier-and-gate checkpoint: the AutoGate, the part of the system a driver actually meets. The Reach Stacker. The Mobile Harbor Crane. And the Rail OCR Portal, which is the one where the modelling gets interesting, because a scanning gantry looks like nothing at all until you show what it is doing. That model puts the scanner heads on the frame in translucent elements and a loaded wagon underneath, so the object explains the machine's job by being looked at, which is also the machine's job. The last of them is the fullest run of a standing practice here, the weekly behind-the-scenes report: a real photograph and a plain account of the phase, week by week, parts arriving, parts logged and weighed into bins, recipes filled, prototypes cross-checked against the instructions.

CERTUS kept coming back, and the same person was on the other end every time. When they needed the next machine on the table, they came back to the same place rather than running the decision again. Somewhere along the way the models stopped being a sales aid. In CERTUS's own account their customers have started collecting them, and ask when the next one is coming. A gift that gets kept is one outcome. A gift the client's own customers are waiting for is a different one.
